Kevin Flanagan has been developing with Drupal and other LAMP platforms for over a decade. He takes pride in exposing himself to all phases of web site development, beginning with requirement definitions, design and training.
"Understanding my client's needs is the most interesting part of development because it allows me to appreciate the complexities and importance of what they are creating or serving the needs of in their particular business."
This idea puts forth the notion that the client's expectations are paramount to the success of a site. When these needs are heard and reasoned through first hand by the architect and developer of the site they can be incorporated into the design of the application much more efficiently.
His technical skills include:
- Drupal 6.0 theme design - this includes all aspects of theming, including CSS positioning and coloring, page layout, and module theming down to the template level.
- Drupal module development
- PHP coding and modification
- MySQL administration
- SQL query string construction and anaysis
- CSS level 3 and 4 - There are no less than 5 major web browsers used widely today, and each uses its own interpretations of CSS implimentations. Internet Explorer 7 and 8 for instance are used by almost half of today's web surfers but these platforms are limitted to old rules of styling. Being aware of these limitiations is crucial to a successful web site design, otherwise you will alienate that half of your target audience.
